I suggest that we have great respect for what Tim Johnson has to say. As I have mentioned numerous time before, McClatchy is the third largest city newspaper organization. It provides the major paper in a lot of U.S. cities. It is respected as one of the very few remaining news sources that still has its own actual investigative reporters who go investigate world news directly, rather than relying on handouts. They are totally serious about reporting the news. So is their foreign staff.
The big details of the world and which countries have energy dominance have changed. It is coming to be the United States and NOT OPEC! That change will reorder the globe in ways large and small, to quote Tim Johnson in this article.
This is huge food for thought and whatever mental (and physical?) adjustment may result.
