I've just thought of an old true story. Make of it what you will.
For awhile before I went off to college I was attending a big
Christian church located on a Christian college campus. I remember
the words of the minister from one occasion where he was preaching a
sermon from the pulpit.
He said: "Do not look to me for an example to follow. Sooner or
later I will fail you. Look to Jesus Christ."
