The documents reveal that the annex was introduced only two days after the U.S. successfully forced through similar text in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TTP) in October 2015." [emphasis added--LAS]
The reason this is bad is because the total focus of private businesses is maximizing profit no matter who it hurts. The idea of public services was to improve on that. Switching what have been public services to private businesses is regressive, to say the least.
Some might remember that big movie of a few years ago, back in the 2000s, about what happened when Bolivia went right-wing and gave over supplying water to a private company. Many people could not afford the new rates. People died before that problem got reversed, finally, by the election of a new President and the government back with the task of supplying water. I remember it well. Please let us fight back against that sort of thing here in America. We need for government military spending to go down and for government spending on public services to go up.
