Some of us grew up counting on the fiduciary account,
the Social Security Retirement account that we paid into during
the years that we were working. That was a contract. Congress
has cheated us over the years by falsifying and understating the
annual cost of living increases to the point where it is now
quite difficult to live on what was originally planned to be an
ok retirement plan for working people. They do that by ignoring
the increases in the cost of food. I myself have managed so
far--I do not owe anybody anything, but it would be totally
impossible without the medical insurance plugins that have been
added over the years. Things are not getting better. Young
people do not expect to make and are not making more than did
their parents. The Social Security System is one government
agency that works--except for the Congress reducing benefits so
as not to pay back any of the money that it has borrowed into
the general tax fund. It never has paid back any of that
borrowed money, and it does not want to start paying it back.
It has other plans, like continually increasing the crazy
"defense" (war equipment) budget.
Please support at least the maintenance of the Social
Security Retirement and the health insurance funds. Almost
nobody has the kind of money that doctors, hospitals, and
pharmaceutical companies get.
