The article by former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich linked below
is good. It points to truths about people's situations these days.
But I think it is important that we remind ourselves that there have
been some successful outcries lately, or outcries that seem
as though they might be successful at least for a little while.
Recently citizens' outcries helped stop a U.S. attack on Syria, and
it seems citizens' outcries may have an influence in helping stop
the fast tracking of the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership. Senate
Majority Leader Harry Reid spoke on it early in the morning
following the President's State of the Union address. That is a good

But this by Robert Reich is not about either of those things in particular. In fact he does not mention those things in this article. It's well worth reading, though, not for the sake of getting discouraged but for the sake of more information about where we might be at the moment in our struggles for the futures of those younger than some of us might be--younger than I am anyway.
