she is an icon for her famous classic book The
Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism
(2007), which laid out the facts in carefully documented
detail about how how some very rich investors and powerful
manipulators had been ruining the lives of most of the people in
various smaller societies in different parts of the world. As of
right now there are 647 Amazon customer reviews. That's a lot. You
might also know that Naomi Klein recently published an eagerly
awaited new book, This
Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. The Climate (September
16, 2014). It is currently #1 in sales in Amazon's
International Economics section. As of right now there are 208
Amazon customer reviews of the new book. That's a lot too.
Naomi Klein objects to despair, and there are things to do toward making progress on major scales--that's what she says her new book is about, NOT just about individuals changing our personal lifestyles. I would say that is her message in a nutshell.
Despair in the face of difficult odds is understandable. It is also highly contagious. [Let's not do that.]
