This is the International Monetary Fund, for Pete's sake, known for being a tool of the wealthy, mainly! So are things that bad? Really really?
Do remember that the Trans-Pacific Partnership proposal is far beyond far worse than the label given to those who oppose it. [ARCHIVES LINK] And I guess that since many Republicans oppose the TPP we should consider them "progressives"? lol Never mind. You know that I strongly disapprove of labels. But the TPP and labels are both topics that are way different from any of a) investing in the nation's infrastructure, b) raising the minimum wage, c) expanding the Earned Income Tax Credit, d) improving paid family leave, and e) raising the ceiling for social security contributions.
2. As Southwest Burns, Climate Scientists Warn: You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet You know that May 2016 was the 13th month in a row of record high worldwide temperatures, right? So I wonder whether you might be thinking of how you and your family might be able to switch to alternative energy sources, like geothermal and solar while cutting back on investments in the fossil fuels industries. "'If we continue with business-as-usual burning of fossil fuels, by mid-century what we think of as extreme summer heat today will become a typical summer day,' [Michael Mann] said."
3. Pools of Waste: Landmark Analysis Exposes Factory Farming Filth: The analysis makes clear: 'Animal feeding operations are degrading the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of rural residents [in North Carolina]' They are endangering health in communities and messing up the waterways.
4. Senate Rejects "Hatchet to Americans' Privacy"—But Threat Remains America is supposed to be about freedom bigtime, right? The fight is not over.
