The Nation is the oldest print publication in the country still in print. The 1865 founding prospectus says: "The Nation will not be the organ of any party, sect, or body. It will, on the contrary, make an earnest effort to bring to the discussion of political and social questions a really critical spirit, and to wage war upon the vices of violence, exaggeration, and misrepresentation by which so much of the political writing of the day is marred."The above article really fits together with the ones I just sent you a moment ago, sent 9/15/14 2. ...because you can do something here that might matter; 1. " Russia: We warned the Yanks about Islamic State..."
Obviously they've still got a job on their hands there at The Nation. I have been watching for a few years, and to me it appears they are still working hard at the job as described. Just so you know.
